Donation Policy

This donation policy explains how Engineers Without Borders Zambia (EWB-Zambia) receives, manages, and applies your contributions. You support engineering work that creates practical impact, and we use this policy to show you how we handle your donation from start to finish.

1. Use of Funds in This Donation Policy

Your donation supports our mission work, including:

  • Clean solar-powered water systems

  • Renewable energy initiatives

  • Youth training and education programs

We apply funds to the area that needs support the most unless you give a legally restricted instruction. This helps us respond quickly to project demands.

2. Restricted and Unrestricted Donations

We accept two types of donations:

  • Unrestricted donations: You allow us to use your contribution for general operations and mission activities.

  • Restricted donations: You choose a specific, approved project. We follow that instruction.

If your chosen project reaches full funding or becomes unviable, we contact you to redirect the remaining balance to a similar project. This keeps your contribution aligned with your intention.

3. Tax and Legal Compliance

EWB-Zambia is a registered non-profit organisation in Zambia. We follow all local laws that apply to charitable giving. You can request an official receipt for donations of K100 or more. You are responsible for asking your tax advisor how the receipt applies to your situation.

4. Data Security and Privacy

We protect your personal information. Our donation page uses encrypted processing, and we store your details securely. We do not sell or share your information with outside parties unless the law requires it. For more details, view our separate Privacy Policy.

5. Donor Recognition

You can choose to remain anonymous. Tell us during the donation process if you prefer not to have your name listed or acknowledged.
